The Divers Descent, Inc. team offers beginner through career levels of certifications. We are PADI Instrucors (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) which is the largest scuba certification agency in the world. Our instructors are held to a high standard thus allowing us to provide you the best professional service available.

PADI Discover Scuba

Discover Scuba has been designed by PADI to introduce you to the exciting experience of Scuba Diving. DDS offers a Discover Scuba program so that you can experience your first breath underwater and find out more about the Open Water Diver Course. A Discover Scuba begins by introducing the basic rules of Scuba Diving. You then enter the shallow end of a pool with your PADI dive professionals and take your first exhilarating breath below the surface of the water. The Discover Scuba continues with practicing a few diving skills and a few laps around the shallow end of the pool. When you are feeling confident and excited about your newly discovered sport, you may take a guided tour to the deeper end of the pool.

  • Minimum age: 10
  • Medical questionnaire & release form required prior to class
  • Tuition includes: Instructor Fee, admission to the pool facility, PADI Open Water Diver Manual, Dive Log, Deluxe Dive Binder, Recreational Dive Planner, use of Educational DVD, use of rental Gear, Open Water Certification Dives, and a PADI certification card upon completion of the course.
  • The personal gear needed includes mask, snorkel, fins, boots, and a weight belt and may be purchased at DDS.

PADI Open Water Course

Get your PADI scuba certification with this course. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.

  • Minimum age: 10

PADI Bubblemaker

The PADI Bubblemaker program is designed for children 8 years and older to discover the excitement of scuba diving. This fun two-hour session begins with the basic rules of scuba diving, taught by a PADI professional to insure the safety of each student. DDS provides scuba equipment made specifically for children, allowing them to experience the underwater world to a maximum depth of six feet.

  • Minimum age: 10

PADI Advanced Open Water Course

The PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) Course is the perfect way to continue your diving education after your Open Water Certification. The AOW Course builds greater confidence and familiarity in your diving skills, and begins exploring the many niches the diverse sport of Scuba Diving has to offer.

PADI Emergency First Responder Course

The Emergency First Responder (EFR) Course provides the necessary education and training to make sure that you are confident in your ability to provide someone with aid in the event of a medical emergency. The skills you acquire in the EFR course are important not only in diving, but also in your daily interactions with friends, family, and coworkers. In the EFR course you will learn skills such as Emergency Scene Assessment, CPR, First Aid, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) use, and introduction to Oxygen Administration.

PADI Rescue Diver Course

The PADI Rescue Diver Course was constructed to develop your personal dive safety and confidence while also developing your ability to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well-being of other divers. The Rescue Diver Course teaches skills such as self rescue, panicked diver management, and emergency management and equipment use

PADI Divemaster Course

The PADI Divemaster Course will allow you to expand your love of Scuba Diving into the realm of the PADI Dive Professional. If you not only have a passion for Scuba Diving, but also wish to share your passion by educating other divers, the Divemaster Certification is the best way to begin your role as Scuba Educator. The Divemaster course will provide you with the necessary skills to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. The Divemaster Course is comprised of classroom sessions, training exercises, pool training, and an internship program.

PADI Master Scuba Diver Course

The PADI Master Scuba Diver Course is the pinnacle achievement of the recreational diver. The PADI Master Scuba Diver Course is not one, but rather a series of courses that allows you to build your diving skills with your personal goals in mind. All Master Scuba Diver candidates must complete the Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver courses. Beyond those courses, you may choose to complete any five of the multitude of specialty courses that are offered to complete the necessary requirements for the Master Scuba Diver Certification. The structure of the course allows you to design your own Course Curriculum to better personalize the needs of your diving repertoire.

Specialty Courses

 PADI Specialty Courses allow you to strengthen your diving skills based on your personal interests and hobbies. Many of the specialty courses can be taken as soon as you finish your Open Water Course. The list below contains the most popular Specialty Courses offered at Lancaster Scuba Center. Click on the course title to view the PADI page with more information on each individual course. The Specialty Course tuition includes a Crew Pack if needed, Instructor Fee, and your rental tanks and air for the training dives if needed.
